Open Access and Licensing

Open Access Statement

The Journal of Sustainable Engineering and Intelligent Systems (SEIS) is a fully open access journal. All content is made freely available immediately upon publication, without embargo, subscription, or any paywall. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of any article without requesting permission from the publisher or author, subject to the licensing terms below.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

SEIS currently charges no Article Processing Charge (APC = $0) for submission, review, or publication. Authors are not required to pay any fee at any stage of the publication process.

This policy is reviewed annually by the Editorial Board and Publisher. Should this policy change in the future, any new charges will be:

  • Announced publicly on this page and the journal homepage at least six (6) months in advance of taking effect, and
  • Applied only to new submissions received after the announced effective date — never retroactively to manuscripts already submitted, under review, or published under the current no-charge policy.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain full copyright of their published work. Upon acceptance, authors grant SEIS the right of first publication, while retaining the right to share, reuse, and build upon their own work.

All articles published in SEIS are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Under this license, anyone is free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially

provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated. Full license terms are available at: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted and encouraged to self-archive their published SEIS articles (final published version) in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or personal/academic websites at any time after publication, provided that the original publication in SEIS is properly cited.

Preservation and Archiving

SEIS content is digitally preserved through the Internet Archive (archive.org), where a copy of every published article is deposited, ensuring continued access to published articles in the event the journal’s website becomes unavailable in the future.
